Encounter with JW neighbours # 2
by winnie inas i posted in a previous thread, we moved about 5 weeks ago into a house next door to a local elders family (who also happen to be related to us through marriage).. the elders wife (i'll call her mrs m), decided to weed her garden when we went out this morning.
but we were only gone for 20 minutes.
to weed a part of her garden, she has to come into our front yard to reach it, which she was doing when we came home.

Christmas accident
by startingover ini think this guy not only lost his legs but he probably got df'd too.
what do you think?
the date was 1965, probably from a mpls newspaper.

Your assuming the person who lost their legs had the christmas tree...but the news clipping doesn't say that. It just simply says, ONE of the two injured was a Dub.

Whats the funniest thing you've ever seen happen in the KH?
by shell69 ini remember being a kid and we didnt have the fancy fabric seats, they were plastic stackable chairs all set out in the usual lines.. an elderly bro, rather rotund, farted, the noise so loud and thundering against the plastic seat!
or the time when i must have been about 7, my dad brought his bible study family to their first ever meeting, i had to sit on mums knee.
i recall giving the daughter of the new family a very vigorous v sign during the meeting.

Bahahaha! Did we go to the same hall?? In my Hall growing up we had the same CB radio problem. Our CB guy was named, "Chickenwing" and he must have lived close by. It was like every freaking wed. night until we finally got a new sound system. Funniest thing I think I ever saw was when my brother was giving a talk. Me and my friend were both making faces and he was stoned faced. Well one of us did something inadvertently and he just started cracking up. HE went the rest of the way laughing. Needless to say he got the dreaded "W" on the talk. The brother said something like, "it's very disrespectful to laugh on stage".
The other thing also included my brother. We were at a after Sunday lunch with this old lady my parents gave rides to. She was talking to us when my brother starts throwing little splints of wood at her. Mean yes and extremely funny. We're sitting there trying so hard not to laugh and he just keeps throwing em. Finally she turns around and he says something like, "Oh Mrs. Old Sister your stories are so insightful" well she turns to us and there my brother is mouthing the words "psyyyyychhhhh" and throwing the wood chippings again. Me and my friends just broke down. Good times indeed!

I think dubs think of what others would think. As for the worldly person me and another person had a private conversation about this. How worldly people usually just as happy. Dubs though think that it's a "fleeting" happiness. Since they are always "running" towards happiness, how could they possibly understand that we really are happy? I personally never thought like a dub. I do though know how my Mom and other friends think. Personally as silly as this sounds it's just more convenient not to think about it when a worldly person tells them they are happy.

Jehovah's witness let's not pretend That for one second you are my friend Knock on my door and I'll turn out the light Close the curtains and turn in for the night
Jehovah's witness why must it be Just when I'm feeling good i look out and see You walking up in your very nice suit Like I'm some old lady who'll give up her loot
Jehovah's witness leave me alone Jehovah's witness I'm not at home

It reminds me of bands I really like. I might post once or twice but then I move on to another band. More then likely these people finally push forward but just don't have time to post or don't care too.

Spycatchers
by hurricane inmy daughter and son in law have just been dfd for questioning re issues we all know about, molestation, 607/587, ngo, etc.
i am not going to add to the damage by shunning so my own days may be numbered ?
maybe though i will be left alone as i dont think rocking the boat is what my own elders are about and our family connections are numerous.

The spying is spoken of in In Search Of Christian Freedom by Raymond Franz. It was a very rare case but it made headlines in Greece. Evidently there was quite a large group of ex wittinesses meeting for bible studies. A couple of people got BOE'd about a day after they went to one of the meetings and then got DF'd. This led to the women whose home it was at to pay a little more attention to the Van parked outside of her house. She called the police then approached the van. The van drove off immediately but was then caught by police in a park trying to dispose of recording equipment. The people in the van were member of the branch, one even a "ranking" member. They denied spying but were found guilty in court. The greatest thing was that the guys had paper over the window with a hole the perfect size for a camera lens. After reviewing of the tapes they found it was zooming in on people going to and from the house. I do not think many brother go out to spy on other brothers. Likewise if it is close family you can claim you were meeting with them because of a money emergency. Or just say you weren't discussing spiritual things. Stay strong friend.
